longines spirit chronograph closeupThis year, Longines has given its Spirit collection an incredibly-youthful boost by embracing much more up-to-the-minute style. The hour chapter of previous versions comprising large beige-hued Arabic numerals perpetuating the great traditional design of pilot’s watches gives way to a trendy composition with Super-LumiNova®-coated features. As is now the case for the three-hand and date model, the Chronograph is proposed with three dial variations: matt-black, grained-finished silver and sunray-brushed blue. Whichever you take a shine to, measured time is ever-so easy to read via the central direct-drive, the 30-minute totalizer at 3 o’clock and the 12-hour one at 6 o’clock. And, the hands all stand out with their red-tapering tips. The ensemble is encircled by an accurate-to-the-second minute tracker. Worth noting too is the date set at 4:30 which is but child’s play to adjust via a dedicated crown at 10 o’clock.

The L688.4 caliber has been granted COSC chronometer certification, the must-of-musts proof of accuracy. Amongst other things, it gifts the watch with a power reserve of at least 60 hours. The five stars illustrated below the logo highlight the winged-hourglass brand’s expertise and its desire to offer absolutely-excellent timepieces.

Longines invites wearers to flaunt its Spirit Chronograph on a leather strap or steel bracelet attached by a folding clasp.
