NEVER MISSES AN EDITION
Once again, the watchmaker makes its presence stand out at the most prestigious classic motor race with two series featuring a commemorative engraving of the 2021 edition on their caseback.
Since 1988, Chopard has never missed an edition of the Mille Miglia as key partner and official timekeeper. This time round, the manufacture accompanies the participants who will hit the road starting out from Brescia in Italy for a thrilling 1,600 km loop. And, just like for every edition, a limited series watch is unveiled. This year, the Mille Miglia 2021 Race Edition chronograph is proposed in two versions. 1,000 pieces have been produced based on a 44 mm-diameter steel case, waterproof to depths of 100 meters. 250 more refined pieces are crafted in the same material but boast rose gold on the pushers, the crown and the flange. Dial-side, the time measuring totalizers have gone for a vertical layout with the 30-minute counter at 12 o’clock and the hour one at 6 o’clock. To ensure harmonious visual balance, the small seconds at 9 o’clock is symmetrically in line with the date set in an aperture at 3 o’clock. This wonderfully clear scenography, encircled by a tachymetric scale engraved on the bezel displaying a ceramic insert, guarantees excellent time data readability.
The data is driven by a selfwinding mechanical movement (with a power reserve of 48 hours). Its chronometric accuracy is COSC-certified. Its stop-seconds device ensures time is always set precisely.
Both references are complemented by a black calfskin strap with rubber underside. Automobile enthusiasts will just adore the small perforations inspired by classic racing driver gloves.
