FREAK X RAZZLE DAZZLE Ulysse Nardin

DISRUPTIVE CAMOUFLAGE

The most original watch ever from the manufacture from Le Locle with its one-of-a-kind time display hits the stage with novel adornments infused with visual art codes.

The pattern credited to Sir Norman Wilkinson, which was imagined to protect ships in times of war, boasts a complex crisscrossing of bi-colored lines. The aim was to create an optical illusion to prevent the German submarines from being able to carry out accurate reconnaissance of the British fleet during the First World War. Since then, this camouflage has moved on from the seas to join dry land and artistic creations to ensure they don’t go unnoticed. This year, Ulysse Nardin uses it to dress the dial of its iconic model. As such, the Freak X Razzle Dazzle mesmerizes the gaze with its circular black and white geometrics. This decorative illusion was produced using different techniques: lacquer, electroplating, laser, etc. As for all the collection references, the central bridge and its wheel indicate the hours and minutes instead of the traditional pair of hands. The Super-LumiNova® enhancement makes reading the time easier. This spectacular scenography reigns supreme in a sturdy yet lightweight black DLC titanium case.

This automatic movement, merging the UN-188 and the UN-250, features a flying carousel twirling on its own axis and an extra-large silicon-crafted oscillator. A high-performer, it delivers a power reserve of 72 hours to the watch.
