Official timekeeper of the event eponymous to the name of the watch, the winged hourglass brand is unveiling a limited edition of 2,022 timepieces in the colors of the international competition.
The upcoming multi-sport competition involving athletes from the 54 Commonwealth nations will take place from July 28 to August 8 in Birmingham, England. For this important occasion, Longines, as a major partner, is introducing a commemorative watch, the Hydroconquest XXII Commonwealth Game. What makes it special? Its unidirectional rotating bezel made of black ceramic boasts a graduated scale with brightly colored numbers, the same as the competition logo. This feature adds a touch of whimsy to the sunray dial layout. On this dial, precision is the order of the day, because this model offers all the essential features characterizing a contemporary diver’s watch. Thus, the readability of the temporal information is optimized thanks to an hour circle made of markers and 6, 9, 12, in XL size. These Super-Luminova® coated components contrast perfectly with the black hue on the watch face.
Like all the other references in the Hydroconquest collection, this model has a hard-wearing case measuring 41mm in diameter. Its crown and its screw-down caseback engraved with “Birmigham 2022” and the words “Limited Edition – 1 out of 2022”, are part of its proven water-resistance to a depth of 300 meters. This case effectively protects the L888 caliber. The self-winding movement oscillating at 25,200 vibrations per hour provides 72 hours of power reserve. To enhance the sporty look of the Hydroconquest XXII Commonwealth Game, a steel wristband finished with a folding clasp complements it.
