ULTRA-CHRON Longines

ULTRA-CHRON Longines

A DIVE INTO PRECISION

With its heart pulsating at 10 beats per second, this latest creation from the Saint-Imier watchmaker takes on the characteristics of an attractive emblematic piece created in 1968.

In the 1960s, the pursuit of high frequency was realized in various forms. For Longines, this took the form of the Ultra-Chron Diver watch. This diver’s watch impresses both by its precision mechanism and by its sublime design. The brand of the winged hourglass is offering a contemporary evolution, adopting the main aesthetic codes of the original model. Thus, the 43mm diameter steel case, waterproof to a depth of 300 meters, is elegantly cushion-shaped. It is fitted with a unidirectional rotating bezel with a sapphire insert. On the black grained dial decorated with the logo of yesteryear, one finds an airy composition equipped with markers. The pervasive use of Super-LumiNova® on these elements and on the hands ensures excellent legibility in all light conditions. Shades of red also add vitality to the setting.

Inside the case beats the L836.6 caliber with 52 hours of power reserve. This self-winding movement has a high-frequency balance oscillating at 36,000 vibrations per hour. Its chronometric precision is certified by Timelab, an independent laboratory in Geneva, after passing a series of tests. The Ultra-Chron can be worn with either a sporty or refined personality, thanks to the available wristbands. It can be fitted on either a steel or leather strap. Whichever you prefer, a NATO link comes with it to further enhance the vintage look.
