STREAMLINER GENESIS 2 H. Moser & Cie

STREAMLINER GENESIS 2 H. Moser & Cie

HARMONIOUS OPPOSITES

Pure black and immaculate white, organic curves and serrated appendages, shadow and light: the latest chapter in the trilogy launched in 2022 by the watchmaker based in the region of Schaffhausen presents a sculptural interpretation of time.

Among the various major players in the watchmaking industry, H. Moser & Cie has always forged its own path, a philosophy that the watch brand has followed since its founding in 1828 and which, even today, fuels its creative force. True to its values, it has launched a trilogy in 2022 with the highly experimental Endeavour Centre Seconds Genesis model, the conclusion of which is due to be unveiled in 2026. The second chapter, called Streamliner Genesis 2, is radically different from the first and brings together primary contrasts between colors, shapes, and textures.

The Streamliner collection has been a hit since its introduction in the catalog of the watchmaker based in Neuhausen am Rheinfall, in the Schaffhausen region, thanks to the curved lines of its design and the natural almost organic fluidity between its slightly cushion-shaped case and its integrated bracelet, whose elongated links evoke the silhouette of a futuristic spine.

Machined from steel and measuring 40mm in diameter, the case houses the HMC 203 caliber, a self-winding manufacture movement with an engraved gold oscillating weight, which beats at a gentle frequency of 3.5hz and delivers a power reserve of three days.

While the mechanics are impeccable and the architecture of the case, punctuated by a crenellated crown reminiscent of the original Genesis, is superb, the real spectacle is revealed when the eye falls upon the dial. The face of the watch is adorned with Vantablack®, an absolute black coating with exceptional optical properties, developed in the 2010s and composed of microscopic tubes, which absorbs 99.965% of visible light. However, light is still present, embodied by the long oblong blocks of white Globolight©, another material invented over a decade ago, which house the pair of central hands.

Here, there are no hour markers, no graduated railway track, no logo, and no inscription. Nothing disturbs the round of hours and minutes.
