In 2013, Richard Mille unveiled its first timepiece crafted in carbon TPT®, a material developed by the innovating North Thin Ply Technology firm which is found in the chassis of Formula 1 racers. Since then, other references have also enjoyed this incomparable technological know-how. Besides its physical characteristics, its resistance and lightness, the material’s wavy surface design contributes to the watches’ unrivalled style. The watchmakers from Les Breuleux workshops, forever at the cutting-edge of innovation, now propose an elegant variation of this composite: gold carbon TPT®. What sets it apart? Gold leaf has been placed between each layer of carbon. The resulting alloy, which is ever-so high-tech, ever-so precious, now adorns the cases of the RM 07-01 and the RM 037 for the first time. To exalt their delicate femininity even more, each tonneau-shaped case embraces a dial set with black sapphires with an onyx in the center.
Two in-house manufactured selfwinding calibers beat at the heart of these two models. The CRMA2 drives the hour and minute hands of the RM 07-01 whilst the CRMA1 breathes life into the same time data on the RM 037 as well as an oversized date set at 12 o’clock. This skeletonized movement (50 hours’ power reserve) also features a function selector displayed in a discreet aperture at 3 o’clock. The sapphire-crystal casebacks invite to admire the watches’ components.
