As the collection celebrates its 90th anniversary, the Joux Valley manufacture unveils a steel watch boasting a dial as lush as the pine forests scattered across the mountains.
Springtime oblige, brands are going for green! This dynamic color has actually stormed its way into watch collections over the last few months, offering them a bouquet of freshness that’s as beautiful to look at as it is to wear. Jaeger-LeCoultre is no exception and borrows the hue that adorns the pine forests in the Joux Valley which encircle its manufacture for its Reverso Tribute Small Seconds. This model, stylistically the closest to the 1931 original, complements the two already-existing colored Tribute pieces, the first garnet-colored, the second blue, to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the watch created for polo players.
For this 2021 version, Jaeger-LeCoultre pays tribute to its natural surroundings, to the beauty of the rolling landscapes of the Swiss Jura. The sunburst-finished lacquered dial hosts deeply-intense green set off by a white hour chapter comprising faceted, arrowhead indexes and a railway-style minute tracker. The ensemble is hovered over by a pair of silvered dauphine-like hands whilst a counter featuring a baton-shaped mini-hand displays the seconds at 6 o’clock.
The perfectly-sized 45.6 x 27.4 mm rectangular steel case embraces a caseback surface ready to be engraved with an affectionate message, the name of a loved one or an etched design. It houses the hand-wound mechanical JLC 822/2 caliber which beats at 21,600 vibrations an hour and delivers a little less power reserve than its siblings.
The Reverso Tribute Small Seconds is worn on a green calfskin strap matching its dial crafted by Casa Fagliano, the Argentinean bespoke bootmaker that Jaeger-LeCoultre has been partnering with since 2011.
