Born from the collaboration between a pioneer in ultra-thin watchmaking and an influential platform in the secondary market, this limited edition reinterprets the codes of contemporary elegance through a bold blue signature.
In a rare move in the world of limited editions, the Geneva-based manufacture Piaget has partnered with Wristcheck, a platform founded in Hong Kong in 2020 by Austen Chu and Sean Wong. Together, they have reimagined the famous Altiplano Ultimate Automatic watch, one of the most accomplished interpretations of ultra-thin design within the Richemont Group brand. This unprecedented collaboration illustrates the growing convergence between players in the primary market and those in the pre-owned market.
Crafted in white gold, this version features a 41mm-diameter case while maintaining a thickness of just 4.3mm. An impressive slimness once the watch is on the wrist! Its construction, which integrates the movement into the case, reveals an open architecture composed of 238 components. For this limited edition, Wristcheck adds its signature touch to the wide ring bordering the off-center hour and minute dial, the pair of baton-style hands, the screws, and the peripheral rotor, all finished in a deep blue. The case back features a double engraving combining the emblems of both partners. Heir to the ultra-thin 9P and 12P calibers, the Altiplano Ultimate Automatic continues Piaget’s long tradition of ultra-thin watchmaking. Its integrated automatic movement, awarded at the 2021 Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève in the Mechanical Exception category, attests to the company’s mastery in this field. Limited to 30 pieces, this edition is complemented by a blue calfskin strap adorned with matching stitching.
