Back in 2023, during the Only Watch charity auction, Bvlgari center staged a spectacular piece imagined as a tribute to Rome, a never-ending source of inspiration. Case, dial, and bracelet were fashioned in marble like the statues which have survived the centuries. This year, the Octo Finissimo Marble Tourbillon reiterates this spirit yet only the backdrop devoted to displaying the hours and minutes is crafted in Verde Alpi marble, sourced from the Aosta Valley. The signature 40 mm-diameter faceted case, sculpted here in 18-karat yellow gold, and flaunting satin-brushed and polished finishes, as such provides a precious holder that’s perfectly in line with the outstanding time scenography. The golden glints marry beautifully with the green modulations delicately set off with the stone’s discreet natural white stripes. This contrast diffuses harmony enhanced even more by the presence of a flying tourbillon at 6 o’clock. Its 60-second rotations add a kinetic aspect to the immutable minerality.
This model, reflecting this aesthetic meticulousness, is also infused with outstanding know-how. Caliber BVL 268 reigns behind this pared-down composition. This 1.95 mm-high device inaugurated over a decade of exploits in the quest for extreme slimness. This manual-wind movement delivers a comfortable power reserve of 52 hours to the Octo Finissimo Marble Tourbillon, which is only 4.85 mm thick.
