During Watches & Wonders this year, the Rome-based brand unveiled a dashingly-daring, spellbinding interpretation of its signature ladies’ watch, first rolled out back in 1948.
The Serpenti watch has been wrapping itself gracefully around some of the world’s most delicate wrists for over 75 years now. Its forever-revamped adornments, in precious metal and/or flaunting gems, have hypnotized for generations. This time round, Bvlgari invites us to discover a dashingly-daring upgrade of its design in the shape of its Serpenti Aeterna model. Symbolic power conjuring up eternity is heightened thanks to a sleeker, more honed style. “I like to design in a pure, contemporary style, with few decorative elements – to draw lines that speak the language of eternity. Octo Finissimo is a perfect expression of this quest for the absolute through form, which now transforms Serpenti. Only a few strokes were needed to sketch Aeterna. The serpent is distilled to its essence, its own dynamic, refined to its most powerful form… with visionary modernity”, states Fabrizio Buonamassa Stigliani, the manufacture’s Product Creation Executive Director.
No question about it, the Serpenti Aeterna is much more than a watch, it embraces the features of a fascinating contemporary piece of jewelry. Case and bracelet become but one. The 145 mm-long, diamond-set, rose gold version dazzles with its solar glow. A white gold fine-jewelry version, offered in 145 mm and 155 mm lengths, snow-set with the same precious stones, enhances its extraordinarily-elegant personality. A new attachment system, which took two years to develop, invites to wear the watch like a low-key, can’t-do-without bangle. What’s more, all the versions are driven by small yet high-performing quartz calibers, for amazing user-friendliness.
