L.U.C XPS 1860 OFFICER Chopard

THE PERFECT MATCH

Recapturing the graphical spirit of an historic timepiece, this model first presented in 2017, holds its appeal in this sublime variation with impeccable style.

What is an elegantly designed watch? When exploring one of the new Chopard models unveiled at Watches & Wonders 2022 in Geneva, it seems that the manufacturer is answering this question with a compelling example. Indeed, the L.U.C XPS 1860 Officer holds all the advantages to seduce lovers of refined watchmaking. First of all, its 40mm diameter case is beautifully thin, 7.4mm. Machined in ethical yellow gold, its case is appropriately combined with a green dial adorned in its center with a honeycomb pattern. The gold finish is also found on the dauphine hands, the small seconds at 6 o’clock, and on the hour markers. This combination of the two colors lends the timepiece a natural distinction. The composition is harmonious. Even the date window keeps a low profile while at the same time being perfectly legible.

This refined elegance is then extended by the presence of the L.U.C 96.01-L caliber. The excellence of its manufacture, its finishing, and its reliability are underscored by the Poinçon de Genève. The guilloched “officer” caseback opens enabling the display of some of its components. Its chronometry is also recognized by the certification issued by the Official Swiss Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC). This self-winding mechanism also has a generous autonomy: 65 hours of power reserve. The presence of a stop-second device also ensures that time is set with the utmost precision. The L.U.C XPS 1860 Officer is worn on a brown alligator wristband closed by a gold pin buckle. Faced with this aesthetic perfection, this timepiece has perhaps a single flaw, being a limited edition of only 50 specimens…
