This edition whisks us off to the world of overboosted single-seaters driven by race-track balancing actors and, more specifically, the one of the team of champion racer Max Verstappen.
TAG Heuer pursues its partnership with Aston Martin Red Bull Racing initiated back in 2016. To celebrate its commitment to the Formula 1 team for the second time in its history as official timekeeper, the brand has rolled out a special edition, the Formula 1 Aston Martin Red Bull Racing Special Edition 2020, which proudly bears the colors which adorn the 2020-season racing cars – as such, the dial and the tachymetric-scaled bezel both boast dazzling blue. Red stands out on various pieces of wording on the watch, on chronograph counter details and on the small seconds. Yellow adorns the fine lacquered central direct-drive. This chromatic marriage emphasizes the watch’s incredibly sporty personality. For optimal readability, the white-hued Super-LumiNova® reigns supreme on the hour and minute hands as well as on the indexes. Like all Formula 1s, to prove its soundness, this timepiece underwent a battery of over 60 tests.
All time data, the date set at 4 o’clock and the short-cycle time measurements are driven by a quartz movement. This caliber nestles in a 43 mm-diameter brushed-steel case, waterproof to a depth of 200 meters. An engraving on the screwed caseback illustrates the British team’s logo.
The Formula 1 Aston Martin Red Bull Racing Special Edition 2020 is worn on a steel bracelet clasped by an ardillon buckle equipped with an integrated extension system. Each piece is proposed in a box specially created for the occasion.
