Following the Island X Prix and Desert X Prix models, the manufacturer presents the latest Extreme E competition related series vintage 2022. Still as sporty and colorful as ever!
With the final stage in Uruguay, the second season of the Extreme E electric rally comes to an end. Zenith, the committed partner and official timekeeper, unveiled for the occasion a new limited edition of 20 Defy Extreme E Energy X Prix. This model stands out from the previous versions thanks to the purple touches enhancing the scale on the bezel, the small seconds, and the chronograph counters. As for the other elements, we find the openworked dial typical of this sporty reference from the manufacturer bearing the star. The entire set is integrated into a 45mm diameter case combining carbon and bead-blasted titanium. For visual consistency, the case is worn on a parma-colored wristband made of recycled car tires and fastened with Velcro®. As with all previous series, an alternative bracelet with a folding clasp completes the case.
All time information is orchestrated with precision by the El Primero 9004 caliber, a contemporary development of the emblematic 1969 automatic movement. It is distinguished by its two escapements, one with a frequency of 5Hz for the hours and minutes, the other devoted to the measurement of time to 1/100th of a second, beating at 360,000 vibrations per hour. Pervasive Super-LumiNova® coating on the hands and markers provides excellent legibility even in the dark. State-of-the-art automatic winding mechanism and optimized ergonomics combine to deliver uncompromising precision.
