Carl, an apostle of hardcore sounds and rave parties, went on to become a techno legend earning fame as he mixed behind his four or five turntables during unforgettable underground nights. This year, the DJ joins Zenith’s highly-select Friend of the Brand club. To center stage this occasion, the manufacture unveiled its Defy 21 Carl Cox Edition which honors the remix virtuoso. This edition glows under club lights with its carbon fiber bezel and the stitching of its Cordura-effect, black-leather-fashioned strap coated with luminescent matter.

They are displayed through two totalizers, one for the 30 minutes set at 3 o’clock and one for the 60 seconds placed at 6 o’clock, with a central direct-drive which makes a full revolution every second. At 9 o’clock, the small seconds is portrayed as a vinyl record, a nod to the artist. A power reserve indicator at 12 o’clock states the energy available (50-hour power reserve). Like the other Defy 21, the hour and minute hands hover over the indexes and a minute tracker displayed on the flange. On the B side, the 44 mm-diameter, black carbon, sapphire-crystal caseback reveals components of the self-winding movement.
