The Chronomaster Original Triple Calendar, reiterating the size of the iconic A386 model from 1969, is totally in tune with the times. As well as being gender-neutral, Zenith‘s watch stands out with its elegant deep-blue dial, obtained using lapis lazuli. Natural golden pyrite flakes conjure up a starry sky. Their haphazard arrangement means that each piece is unique. Their presence enhances the moon phase display harmoniously.
Here, mineral interacts with metal and produces great visual contrast. This design choice means its ever-so easy to read the triple-calendar day, date and month data, as well as measured times in the silvered counters, and the small seconds nestling at 9 o’clock. The hour and minute hands, along with the markers, all coated with Super-LumiNova® SLN C1 play their role perfectly in this wonderfully-clear scenography. The circular scale running round the edge of the composition is a reminder that the high-frequency (5 Hz) El Primero 3610 Caliber can freeze time to 1/10th of a second. What’s more, this selfwinding movement is equipped with a column wheel enabling series of absolutely-accurate timing sessions. It also delivers a power reserve of at least 60 hours to the watch. This high-performing device is hosted in a 38 mm-diameter steel case, resistant to the pressure encountered at depths of 50 meters. This timepiece comes complete with two wraparounds – a metal bracelet and a calfskin strap -, both attached by a folding clasp.
