THE ORIGINAL’S BACK CENTERSTAGE
The winged-hourglass brand enters a new chapter in underwater exploration with a reference whose design’s inspired by the historic model from 1959, down to the very last detail.

Since the end of the 1950s, Longines has been accompanying those who venture down to the depths with instruments imagined to offer reliability, readability, and chic style. The Legend Diver 59, a worthy heir to this spirit, brings back one of the brand’s most iconic silhouettes and, at the same time, meets current-day requirements.
Like the previous divers in the collection, its identity is forged around a detail that has become an aesthetic and technical signature: a bidirectional rotating bezel poised under the domed sapphire crystal, embedded in the flange and triggered by a second crown nestling at 2 o’clock. This original architecture ensures the 42 mm-diameter, 12.85 mm-thick case is waterproof to depths of 300 meters, on par with professional diving standards. Data is read off in a flash thanks to the subtle interplay of luminous contrasts on the grained black dial. Time details indicating immersion duration stand out with their blue-glowing Super-LumiNova® whilst the hour hand, the markers, and the numerals reveal a greenish hue in the dark. The Legend Diver 59, driven by the COSC-certified, selfwinding L888.6 caliber equipped with a silicon spring, delivers a comfortable 72-hour power reserve and boasts great magnetic resistance. It comes with a Milanese mesh bracelet and reminds us that, for Longines, elegance is much more than a mere accessory.
