L.U.C 1860 Chopard

L.U.C 1860 Chopard

THE RADIANCE OF ORIGINS

To mark the 30th anniversary of the Fleurier manufacture, this new timepiece celebrates classic horological elegance through a hand-guilloché blue-tinted gold dial.

Three decades after the founding of the Chopard Manufacture in Fleurier and the debut of the very first caliber 1.96, later renamed L.U.C 96.01-L, the new L.U.C 1860, certified by the Geneva Hallmark (Poinçon de Genève), elegantly celebrates the founding heritage of this product line. True to the spirit of the original watch while asserting a discreet modernity, this Lucent Steel™ interpretation combines aesthetic refinement with mechanical excellence.

Its 36.5 mm diameter and 8.20 mm thick case, with slender proportions and water-resistant to 30m, stands out for the unique luster of this 80% recycled alloy, which is hypoallergenic and particularly resistant to abrasion. Beneath the transparent sapphire caseback beats the L.U.C 96.40-L in-house caliber, featuring a self-winding mechanism driven by a 22-carat ethically sourced gold micro-rotor. This COSC-certified chronometer movement features Chopard Twin® technology – two stacked barrels – guaranteeing a 65-hour power reserve while preserving the caliber’s slim profile and the consistency of its energy. The “Bleu Areuse” dial – named after the river that flows through the Val-de-Travers – is crafted from hand-guilloché gold and combines a flinqué-style central disc with a satin-finished hour ring. The chevron-shaped hour markers and dauphine hands in white gold complement a azure-finished small seconds sub-dial at 6 o’clock, creating a dial of great classical purity. A balanced and timeless silhouette that pays homage to traditional high end watchmaking through the contemporary vision unique to the L.U.C collection.
