OVERSEAS GRAND COMPLICATION OPENFACE Vacheron Constantin

WHEN ELEGANCE KNOWS NO LIMITS

The Geneva manufacture’s chic ‘n’ sporty collection now expands with its first-ever reference equipped, among other things, with a musical complication set inside an openworked scenography.

Can sport be elegant? Vacheron Constantin answers this question brilliantly with its new Overseas Grand Complication Openface. “With the boundaries between watchmaking genres becoming increasingly blurred today, the world of horological complications is no longer confined to fragile, museum-quality timepieces – far from it”, states Christian Selmoni, the brand’s Style and Heritage Director. And, in response to this, the manufacture has rolled out all its know-how. The open dial boasts all the perpetual calendar data, whilst the tourbillon whirls round at 6 o’clock. Each feature is encircled with an incredibly-classy blue finish. This chromatic choice highlights the information dressed in white, hovered over by small hands, and ensures the day, date, month and leap year are ever-so easy to read. The minute tracker, running round the flange, bedecked in the same azure hue, brings out the chic ‘n’ sporty personality of the model even more.

The 44.5 mm-diameter grade 5 titanium case is topped with the stylized bezel inherent to the collection codes. A pusher, extending along the case middle, reminds the wearer that Caliber 2755 QP also flaunts another complication, a minute repeater. This movement, assembled using some 602 components, delivers a power reserve of 55 hours. The watch owner, as such, can hear time striking on demand. A tap on the trigger chimes the hours, quarters, and minutes with two different sounds. And, although the Overseas Grand Complication Openface comes with a bracelet crafted in the same alloy as the case, this outstanding timepiece is also accompanied by two optional blue straps that create perfect stylistic harmony: one leather, the other rubber.
