CHRONOMASTER ORIGINAL E-COMMERCE
The Locle-based manufacturer is unveiling a new chronograph. This one is inspired by the original 1969 watch featuring a trio of tricolored sub-dials and is exclusively available from the online store.
The Covid-19 pandemic that has been raging for nearly two years, activated a review of distribution methods for certain watch brands, leading to the creation of online boutiques. Zenith was among them when it inaugurated its “e-shop” in 2020, making the sale of a large selection of its timepieces accessible to certain markets and gradually extending its reach to the entire world. This technological advance also enables the company to offer exclusive products such as the new Chronomaster Original E-commerce.
True to its traditions, this watch features on its white lacquered face the three tricolored azure sub-dials symbolizing the personality of Zenith chronographs since 1969. The combination of shades is soft, combining light, dark, and blue gray, repeated on the circumference of the dial in three sections that facilitate the reading of the 1/10th of a second. The hours and minutes are displayed in the center, indicated by two rhodium-plated baton-type hands raised by a Super-LumiNova® C1 tip, while the running seconds scroll in a counter at 9 o’clock. In the center, the red-lacquered second-hand beats time and powers the duo of totalizers with the seconds at 3 o’clock and minutes at 6 o’clock.
Inside its 38mm steel casing, similar to the 1969 A386, is the El Primero 3600 automatic caliber. This is a modernized version of the legendary movement, tuned to 5hz and delivering a 60-hour power reserve.
The Chronomaster Original E-commerce is worn on a grey nubuck strap with a steel folding clasp and is housed in a special casing presented as a coffee table book.
