NOT JUST AN EXERCISE IN STYLE
With this limited edition issued in just 19 pieces and inspired by concept cars, the manufacture illustrates its ability to enchant the contemporary watchmaking scene.

Zagato Design Studio, established in Milan, embodies one-of-a-kind heritage, shaped by daring looks and an instantly-recognizable style. For decades now, the creations of the Italian coachbuilder, founded on April 19, 1919, imposed a special identity. This disruptive spirit, fueled by ongoing research into shapes and innovation, expresses itself in a novel way in Chopard‘s Zagato Lab One Concept watch.

The manufacture, reiterating the Italian firm’s philosophy “every curve serves both beauty and performance”, explores as-yet unknown horizons. And here, the exercise goes way beyond design. This creation is the lightest ever to come out of the Fleurier ateliers. Its overall weight, strap included, stands at just 43.20 grams on the scales. To achieve this result, ceramized titanium was shrewdly used to forge the 42 mm-diameter, 11.15 mm-thick case, as well as the mainplate and bridges of the caliber. The tubular construction imagined meant less material was needed. The manual-wind movement, the L.U.C 04.04-L, assembled using some 207 components, reigns with its performance. Apart from boasting a 60-hour power reserve, this state-of-the-art beating heart features a 60-second tourbillon set in an aluminum carriage. The existence of this prestigious regulating device and a shock-absorption system heighten the chronometric accuracy of the Zagato Lab One Concept, which is certified by the COSC.
