At this year’s Baselworld, rumour had it that an extraordinary watch had undergone unbelievable tests including being run over by a 64 ton tank, a 10m drop, a 2 hour cycle in the washing machine and more. The rumour is called Inox, a watch designed by Victorinox to celebrate the brand’s 130th anniversary and inspired by the metal on its famous Swiss knife blades. Its 43mm steel case has been designed to withstand differences in temperature and extreme pressure; it can be fitted with a removable black “bumper” made of silicon and nylon. Inox is available in three differently coloured cases: pitch black, khaki green and sea blue. The indices, hour and minute hands have a luminescent coating whilst the central seconds is “Swiss knife” red. A black-on-white date display lies at 4.30 on the dial. Price: 495 CHF
