This model, an up-to-the-minute expression of the Geneva-based manufacture’s watchmaking expertise, stands out through the elegant color of its dial and its case crafted in precious metal.
After a first refined rose gold variation, followed by an elitist version issued in 100 pieces in the Excellence Platine Collection, Vacheron Constantin’s Traditionnelle Complete Calendar watch is back with a novel adaptation that’s just as elegant based on a 41 mm-diameter white gold case. This case is combined with a sumptuous slate-gray-hued dial. This dial displays the time data in an ethereal scenescape. The day and month feature in their respective apertures at 9 and 3 o’clock. A central hand points to the date set on a circular scale running around the outer edge. The phases of a pared-down white gold Moon come into play at 6 o’clock. Its mechanism only requires adjustment every 122 years.
All this information continues to be driven by the 2460QCL/1 caliber (40-hour power reserve). This complex selfwinding movement is assembled using some 308 components. Some of them, boasting platinum decorated with Côtes de Genève and the openworked oscillating weight adorned with a Maltese cross, can be admired through the sapphire-crystal caseback. The watch’s stop-seconds function ensures time is always set precisely.
This Traditionnelle Complete Calendar is complemented by a black alligator strap, with calfskin lining to ensure comfortable wear, and is clasped by an ardillon buckle. All the finishes and the engineering accuracy have earned this timepiece the highly-demanding Hallmark of Geneva (Poinçon de Genève) certification.
