HAPPY OMEN
The Geneva watchmakers invite us to journey into a brand new era accompanied by a fantastic creature, true allegory of benevolence. Artistic crafts are to be applauded for their sumptuous scenescaping.
The Qilin, a mix between deer and horse, crowned with one or two horns, adorned with a coat or scales, or even both, originating in Chinese mythology, appears in many different guises. This chimerical animal embodies harmony and is often portrayed as a duo, where Qi means male and Lin, female. This combination of two rose gold creatures, delicately crafted using the ramolayé pounced ornament technique, decorates the golden hand-guilloché engraved dial set off with black galvanic coating. One stands with hooves on a globe of the world, symbol of authority, whilst the other is on an ingot, heralding good fortune. This incredibly-delicate artistry is showcased in the 42 mm-diameter rose gold case of this 18-piece limited Traditionnelle Tourbillon Qilin edition. To enhance this atmosphere overflowing with harmony, the bezel, case-middle and horn flanks feature an engrave pattern of lucky-charm clouds.
This timepiece hosts the 2260 caliber equipped with four barrels. This hand-wound movement drives the central hours and minutes as well as the small seconds set on top of the regulating device carriage. It delivers an outstanding power reserve of two weeks and an indicator at 12 o’clock can be used at any time to check remaining energy available. The sapphire-crystal caseback invites to admire the meticulous finishes of this incomparable engineering feat.
