TRADITIONELLE SPLIT-SECONDS CHRONOGRAPH ULTRA-THIN Vacheron Constantin

AN INCREDIBLE AURA

During Watches and Wonders, the Geneva-based manufacture showcased a masterpiece of its know-how with a sophisticated watch designed for highly-demanding, savvy collectors.

In 2015, Vacheron Constantin unveiled its Ultra-thin Harmony Grande Complication Chronograph. What set it apart? It was driven by a brand new caliber, the 3500. And, this is the one we discover this time round in the 15-piece limited edition of the Traditionnelle Split-Seconds Chronograph Ultra-Thin. As its name suggests, this fine-watchmaking mechanism is capable of measuring intermediate-cycle time. Time data is read really easily on the two blue-hued central direct-drives. A tap on the pusher at 2 o’clock blocks the split-seconds whilst its twin pursues its route. Tapping one more time synchronizes the pair again. This action can be renewed throughout the timekeeping period. Time is totaled in a 60-minute counter set at 3 o’clock. The platinum dial features a small-seconds at 9 o’clock and a power reserve indicator at 6 o’clock. In this harmonious composition, encircled by a tachymetric scale, the white gold hour and minute hands hover over indexes fashioned in the same noble metal.

Once fully wound, it delivers 48-hour autonomy to the timepiece. The sapphire-crystal caseback offers a spectacular view of the workings, the arabesque-patterned bridges and the peripheral oscillating weight in gold.
