TOCCATA HERITAGE Raymond Weil

TOCCATA HERITAGE Raymond Weil

A SCORE IN PREMIUM STYLE

A timelessly-elegant, understated line, a manual-winding caliber and an attractive pricetag: that’s the rule of 3 of the models now added to the Geneva brand’s latest collection.

“This timepiece is a journey through time, honoring the past, embracing the present…”. It was with these words that Eli Berheim, CEO of Raymond Weil, introduced one of the most delightful watch surprises of the year. The Toccata Heritage, discreetly unveiled during Watches & Wonders Geneva, definitely appeals. Its steel case shape plays a key role in this power of attraction. Its 33 x 38 mm oval, and its slimness of just 6.95 mm, ensure the watch is ever-so classy on the wrist. Its old silver or midnight blue dial displays wonderfully low-key time features. The tapered hour and minute hands hover over slender indexes. There are no numerals or date to overload this ethereal scenography. Each reference comes complete with a leather strap whose color matches the dial, or an alternative metal bracelet. The brand, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary next year, also rolls out a third variation with coppery glints.

The first models in the collection are all driven by the RW4100 caliber. This manual-winding movement delivers 45 hours of autonomy to these pieces. The presence of a sapphire-crystal back invites to discover some of this device’s components. In music, a toccata is defined as “a brilliant piece of music for string instruments whose free-form structure showcases the performer’s virtuosity”. Raymond Weil‘s performance stands out as a major creation, where accuracy and harmony reign.
