TIFFANY TIMER Tiffany & Co

TIFFANY TIMER Tiffany & Co

A GREAT SUCCESS!

With this new platinum chronograph powered by a legendary caliber and available in a limited edition, the New York jeweler pays tribute to its watchmaking ambitions, which began 160 years ago.

In 1847, about a decade after its founding in New York by Charles Lewis Tiffany (1812-1902), the jewelry company unveiled its watchmaking ambitions, which it realized with the creation of its first pocket chronometer in 1866. Named the Tiffany & Co. Timing Watch, the timepiece was later renamed the Tiffany & Co. Timer. 160 years later, having become part of the LVMH group in 2021, the American company is reviving this timepiece by reinterpreting it and giving it a modern look.

Available in a limited edition of just 60 pieces to mark its “anniversary,” the Tiffany Timer watch combines the best of two worlds: Tiffany & Co.’s own jewelry expertise and the watchmaking expertise of Zenith, another LVMH brand.

Its 40mm diameter case is crafted from platinum, the same precious metal used to make the wedding bands and engagement rings that contribute to Tiffany & Co.‘s international reputation. Curved like a precious pebble, it features two oblong pushers on its middle that delicately encircle the crown, whose conical profile evokes that of a solitaire.

On the Tiffany Blue® lacquered dial, 12 baguette-cut diamonds serve as hour markers, swept across the center by the pair of white gold dauphine-style hour and minute hands and the chronograph seconds hand. The small seconds counter is located at 9 o’clock, while the minute and hour totalizers, coupled with the date, are positioned at 3 o’clock and 6 o’clock respectively. These indications are powered by the El Primero 400 caliber signed by Zenith and customized for Tiffany & Co. This self-winding movement, which delivers 50 hours of power reserve, features an oscillating weight on which a yellow gold sculpture of the famous Bird on a Rock appears to be perched.
