TANK À GUICHETS Cartier

TANK À GUICHETS Cartier

WINDOWS WITH A TIMELESS VIEW

Part of the highly exclusive Cartier Privé watch collection, this quartet offers an unprecedented vision of the essence of time through two openings, one in the form of a hatch and the other in a window stretched out like a fan.

Highly exclusive, the Cartier Privé collection features re-editions or reinterpretations of emblematic timepieces carefully preserved in the archives of the Parisian house, generally pieces featuring great creativity, particularly in terms of shapes. It is also an eagerly awaited rendezvous for all Cartier watch lovers, who were delighted when the new Tank à Guichets opus was launched around a century after the creation of the first Tank.

This chapter, unveiled a few weeks ago at the Watches and Wonders trade show in Geneva, contains a quartet of watches, including a limited edition of 200 pieces with a different time display from the other references. The members of this set are entirely encased in yellow, rose or platinum gold, including a 37.6×24.8mm case with flat crown and brushed metal dial.

Only two openings are visible to indicate the passage of time: a window peaking at 12 o’clock for the jumping hour (or 10 o’clock for the special variant) and a window stretched like a fan from 7 to 5 o’clock (or 3 to 5 o’clock) and punctuated by a triangular marker for the dragging minute, all driven by the hand-wound caliber 9755. The Arabic numerals and track are in dark or burgundy, depending on the variant. Each Tank à Guichets comes with a large-scaled alligator leather strap whose hue harmonizes with that of the case: olive green for yellow gold, dark grey for pink gold, burgundy for platinum and semi-matte black for the limited edition model.
