SOMEWHERE IN-BETWEEN
With this unexpected creation, the Genevan brand, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, launches a new collection that’s set to go far. The Friends’ fertile imagination wows once again!

Here, we’re not looking at a Horological Machine or a Legacy Machine. Yet, if we gaze attentively at every single detail, we can be sure and certain we’ve got a MB&F designed watch in front of our eyes. The firm’s Special Project One kicked off with an idea summed up in a question: “What if we make what no-one expects us to make, an elegant classical watch?”, states brand Founder, Maximilian Büsser. The stylistic approach center stages a really pared-down scenography. Illustrated through an ethereal composition, hosted in a 38 mm-diameter case. And, even though it comes with a sapphire-crystal dome, it’s only 12 mm thick.

Inside this piece rolled out exclusively in precious metals – 950 platinum and rose gold – three elements reign supreme. In addition to the 6-o’clock-off-centered, tilted dial, displaying the hours and minutes, the barrel and balance wheel consort visually. The ensemble diffuses ever-so exquisite graphical harmony. This circular trio veils the highly-original architecture of the SP One movement, assembled using some 191 components on a three-spoked bridge adorned with a ruthenium hue. This virtually-levitating novel caliber beats at 18,000 vibrations an hour and delivers a power reserve of three days. All of its parts are embellished with traditional hand-crafted finishes. The sapphire-crystal caseback invites to admire the meticulous work performed from every perspective. Through the unusual design of its Special Project One, MB&F gives new and incredibly charming meaning to the classical watch.
