TOTAL TRANSPARENCY
Through these never-seen-before, fabulously-feminine limited series, the independent brand unveils every single component of a movement imagined up front for elaborate sapphire-crystal caskets.

Richard Mille‘s incredible ability to invite to discover a one-of-a-kind vision of fine watchmaking stems from its perpetual quest for state-of-the-artness and superlative style. Innovations, cutting-edge materials, and dramatic lines infuse creations that are powerful yet sculptural, as illustrated by the RM 75-01 Flying Tourbillon Sapphire limited editions. The guiding thread was a simple one: why not develop a caliber tailored to the design of a translucent case?

Although we come across well-known elements – tourbillon, fast-rotating flying barrel, shock protection – manual-winding Caliber RM75-01 (around 65 hours of power reserve) stands out with its low-key, open architecture. The baseplate boasts a crisscrossed triangular structure, and the same holds true for the minute-tracker bridge. The 5N PVD treatment applied to the grade 5 titanium on the baseplate sets it apart from the other movement parts with their gray hues. This option contrasts remarkably with the red gold bezel and hour and minute hand duo. The layout showcased here ensures light flows freely to center stage the hand-crafted finishes on every feature. This caliber nestles perfectly inside the tonneau-shaped (32.90 x 46.75 x 14.35 mm) sapphire-crystal case rolled out in three colored variations: colorless, pink, and blue. It takes a thousand hours of machining, among other things, as manufacturing is unbelievably intricate. To enhance the classy personality of each model even more, their gem-adorned crown dazzles to the tune of a ribbon of diamonds. Here, as per usual for Richard Mille, every single detail counts.
