The watchmaker from Les Breuleux invites two of the most demanding complications to mingle together inside a bold chassis-engine duo that’s just as powerful as a luxury Transalpine GT.
For its second opus stemming from its partnership launched with Ferrari in 2021, Richard Mille wows us once again with a creation where the mechanical heart takes pride of place. The RM 43-01 Tourbillon Split-Seconds Chronograph Ferrari time data stands out in a scenography that’s devoid of a dial. The visible inner workings of the movement help sculpt a real kinetic masterpiece. What’s more, to give this open-style architecture a vitamin boost, orange is shrewdly used. Every player on stage here is read swiftly and clearly. The design of many of the elements is a tip of the hat to the style of the Maranello firm’s cars. In addition to the pair of hour and minute hands, the watch boasts the brand’s intrinsic iconic indications: power reserve (70 hours), functions and torque. A five-point star-shaped small seconds reigns on the off-centered tourbillon.
The manual-wind RM43-01 caliber, born out of a collaboration with the Audemars Piguet Manufacture in Le Locle, comes to life thanks to its 541 components. The skeletonized baseplate, crafted in grade 5 titanium, hosts a split-seconds chronograph complication whose functions are driven by two 6-column wheels to ensure wearers enjoy a super smooth experience when measuring time sequences. The RM 43-01 Tourbillon Split-Seconds Chronograph Ferrari is available in two limited editions. A 75-piece one with a microblasted titanium case. And another, produced in the same quantity, which flaunts a Carbon TPT® holder. Both embody a passion for high-precision engineering.
