RM 38-02 TOURBILLON BUBBA WATSON Richard Mille

RM 38-02 TOURBILLON BUBBA WATSON Richard Mille

SEEING LIFE THROUGH ROSE-COLORED GLASSES

The eccentric sportsman finally boasts a watch that reflects his state of mind with this new colorful limited edition of only 50 watches.

In 2012, Bubba Watson packed a pink club into his bag for the first time. The greens remember it still. Since then, the American succeeded in establishing himself on every golf course on the planet, winning the Masters title in 2012 and again in 2014. Richard Mille however, never waited for this world consecration to maintain a privileged relationship with the champion. In 2011, an RM 038 bearing the name of the sportsman was created, followed three years later by an RM 055, both immaculately designed. This year, the RM 38-02 Tourbillon Bubba Watson takes advantage of all the technical advances achieved by the brand to adopt the golfer’s lucky color. Thus, pink embellishes the asymmetrical case (43.70×50.04×15.95mm), machined in QuartzTPT® and Carbon TPT® of this limited edition of only 50 pieces. The vivid color accentuates the high-tech material.

In addition to the striations on the case, the emblematic hue dresses the hour markers and mechanism components such as the plate. On the dial, the openworked hour and minute hands soar above an open architecture animated by the regulating organ and the balance. This hand-wound movement is the third tourbillon caliber to be developed in collaboration with Bubba Watson. However, as with the previous creations and thanks to the experience garnered, notably with the creation of timepieces for Rafael Nadal such as the RM27-03, this model distinguishes itself by its ability to resist the violent shocks inherent to golf, in this case up to 10,000 g!
