The rebellious watchmaker, official timekeeper for the legendary rally raid for the third time in a row, celebrates the event with a limited series of its latest chronograph.
With its Re-Volt Chrono Dakar watch, Rebellion whisks us off to the epicenter of the world’s most thrill-filled endurance race that takes place between January 01 and 14, 2022. Like the original model, this version center stages open-styled architecture imagined around a streamlined, titanium-sculpted case (28.4 x 40.35 mm). Its perfectly unambiguous wearer-friendliness, intended to make it ever-so easy to use, conjures up the cockpit of a GT racer. In a nutshell, the hands tick over a honeycombed dial designed like the grille of a supercar. Timekeeping is done with the help of two pushers in the shape of an accelerator pedal. The 3 o’clock-set totalizer flaunts the features of a stylized rev counter. What’s more, it boasts a dragging date. All these elements, as well as the indexes, adorn a golden hue that contrasts magnificently with the case’s black DLC coating.
Time data is driven by a sturdy automatic Swiss-Made caliber (42-hour power reserve). The crown, stamped with the brand’s logo, invites to adjust the time and wind the movement. The sapphire-crystal caseback, showcasing an illustration of the key stages of the race in Saudi Arabia along with the Dakar logo, unveils the rotor that takes on a wheel rim look.
To boost its “desert fox” personality and sporty spirit even more, each of the 20 Re-Volt Chrono Dakar pieces available are worn on a fabric strap in the colors of the rally’s sandy tracks, attached by a highly-practical Velcro® fastener.
