PRX 40 205 Tissot

BACK TO THE SEVENTIES

2021 has got off to a great start for the firm from Le Locle which has unveiled a new collection inspired by a model from the 1970s, comprising three steel watches.

Back in the 60s and 70s, Tissot, forever in tune with its innovating spirit, rolled out a new appellation “precise and robust” (or “particularly robust” and “particularly resistant”) better known under the initials PR which embraced above all iconic models like the PR 516 Grand Luxe and the PR 100 still included in the brand’s catalogue. This time round, PR comes with an X, the number 10 in Roman numerals, which corresponds to the waterproofness of 10 atm or 100 meters depth of its new collection, the PRX 40 205.

The hours and minutes are displayed in the centre whilst the date is in black on a white backdrop in an aperture at 3 o’clock.

These will be animated by the famous Powermatic 80 which, as its name states, delivers an extraordinary power reserve of 80 hours. As for the dials, they will be available in the same colors as the quartz pieces but enhanced with a textured, embossed pattern.
