PROPILOT X KERMIT EDITION Oris

PROPILOT X KERMIT EDITION Oris

A TIMELESS SMILE

By enlisting the services of the most popular of puppets, the watchmaking company demonstrates that time can be a playful adventure, an opportunity to take care of oneself while spreading smiles all around.

Young or old alike, everyone knows Kermit, the friendly puppet created in 1955 by Jim Henson (1936-1990), either from the Muppet Show TV series broadcast in the 1970s, or from the memes circulating on social networks. It is this famous frog that Oris has chosen as the central theme of one of its must-have collections, but also to convey a kindly message: always take the time to smile and make those around you smile. More than a watch, the ProPilot X Kermit Edition becomes a symbol of daily well-being.

As green is the character’s dominant color, it is repeated on the face of this timepiece presented at Watches and Wonders, but with a hint of luminous yellow for a lemony, vitamin-rich result that energizes the wrist, summer and winter alike. At 6 o’clock, between the long white hour-markers flown over by the duo of luminescent hour and minute hands and the second hand, a window displays the date. On each first day of the month, the Arabic numerals are replaced by the smiling face of Kermit, whose mission is to act as a friendly reminder: it’s time to slow down, take a break and focus on oneself. The personality of the whole, to which both the dial color and this gentle notification contribute, is also based on the technical and aesthetic qualities of the ProPilot X. Indeed, its 39mm-diameter titanium case, punctuated by a delicately fluted bezel, a screw-down crown and a link bracelet fitted with a secure folding clasp, houses Calibre 400, an automatic movement developed by Oris, beating at 4hz and delivering a formidable 120-hour power reserve when fully wound.
