PREMIÈRE GALON Chanel

PREMIÈRE GALON Chanel

GOLD-BANDED WRIST

The Parisian brand celebrates the beauty of craftsmanship reinterpreted through the eyes of a watchmaker with this new creation in yellow gold, black lacquer, and diamonds, halfway between jewelry and watch.

It was in 1987 that the famous Parisian maison de couture made its first foray into the world of watches with a piece aptly named… Première! Since then, through numerous and often spectacular creations combining watchmaking and jewelry, and the opening of a caliber manufacture in Switzerland, Chanel has become an undisputed player in this rather conservative field. As the year draws to a close, the brand is now combining watchmaking and couture, its oldest area of expertise and the source of its success, with the Première Galon watch.

This new model, crafted entirely in yellow gold and available in three versions, plays with geometric contrasts, as evidenced by the combination of a rectangular case with sharp angles, inspired by the cap of a Chanel N°5 perfume bottle, and a bracelet featuring delicate twists, some of which are edged with diamonds. For the first time in this collection, the flexible metal bracelet, usually braided with a leather ribbon, has been replaced by a rigid link that echoes the spirit of a trimming commonly used in clothing to highlight a pocket, collar, or the bottom of a jacket. The case of the Première Galon watch measures 19.7×15.2mm and features a black lacquered face or, in the case of one of the variants, is completely covered with diamonds. With no hour markers to preserve the purity of its appearance, it features a pair of small gold baton hands to display the hours and minutes, whose dance is set to the rhythm of a quartz movement.
