PR 100 JUNGFRAUBAHN SPECIAL EDITION Tissot

HEAD FOR THE HEIGHTS

The brand puts one of Switzerland’s most breathtaking mountains on the wrist. The four models in the Contemporary Classic collection come with a surprise.

Once the train on Europe’s highest railway line has covered its 9 km in 45 minutes, the terminus located at an altitude of 3,454 meters welcome the traveler. Tissot, which has been a partner of this railway for quite some time now, center stages a quartet of highly-illustrative variations. On each of the PR 100 Jungfraubahn Special Edition pieces, a stylized portrayal of the Jungfrau Mountain is engraved on the sunray dial, dressed in blue or silver, depending on the version. The Super-LumiNova®-topped hour and minute hands hover over slender markers on all the references. The direct-drive takes on a yellow or azure hue. An aperture displaying the date, set at 3 o’clock, completes the time data.

These models, driven by a quartz movement with End of Life (EOL) indicator for the Renata 371 battery, are available in two case sizes, 34 and 40 mm diameter, and just 8.25 mm thick. All boast waterproofness on a par with the pressure encountered down to depths of 100 meters. And, all are worn on a metal bracelet attached by a butterfly clasp. A handy quick-change system means the wraparound can be easily swapped for an alternative fashioned in another material. What’s more, every watch purchased comes with a voucher for 50% off an admission ticket to head for the Jungfraujoch, the mountain saddle between the Mönch and the Jungfrau, located in the Bernese Alps at the very heart of a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
