ON THE STARTING GRID
Two 1,063 piece limited editions, boasting a titanium back decorated with a “63”, the English champion’s lucky number, kick off the thrilling F1® competition with fantastic flair.

As this new Formula 1® season gets off to a roaring start, key players are showing what they’re made of. Among the likely favorites, George Russell stands as one of the key contenders behind the wheel of his Mercedes-AMG Petronas. IWC, which has forged a close relationship with the team since 2013, proposed an exclusive partnership to the British driver to create two models featuring his colors of choice, which adorn his single-seater. In a nutshell, the Pilot’s Watch 41 George Russell‘s 41 mm-diameter case, crafted in black zirconium oxide ceramic, is combined with a dial that’s just as dusky, set off with an hour chapter comprising Arabic numerals and a minute tracker flaunting the team’s signature blue. The contrast created boosts the displays of the time data driven by the powerful selfwinding 32112 caliber (120 hours of power reserve). A date nestling at 3 o’clock completes the score.
The same scenography reigns on the Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 George Russell. Like its 3-hand alter ego, this sporty reference’s 41.9 mm case embraces a soft-iron inner case which makes the 69380 movement (46 hours’ autonomy) resistant to magnetic fields. The crown and pushers fashioned in Ceratanium®, a titanium alloy that’s light and sturdy, bring out the watch’s high-tech personality. These models, cut out for competition, are worn on an azure-hued rubber strap. The EasX-Change® system swapping for another wraparound is child’s play.
