OYSTER PERPETUAL LAND-DWELLER Rolex

RELENTLESSLY INNOVATING

2025 is a pivotal year for the Geneva-based watchmaker as it marks the birth of a new collection, available in two diameters and several metal variations, which itself marks the birth of a new caliber.

Innovation in watchmaking is like the thing to which it devotes its creative energy: time. It has indeed no imposed limits and no beginning or end. It is nestled in every detail that makes up a watch, whether mechanical, material, or ergonomic. And at Rolex, it has flourished like an eternal flower since the company’s founding in 1905, as evidenced by the Oyster Perpetual Land-Dweller collection unveiled in the spring at Watches and Wonders.

The timeless appeal of this new range is based on a redesigned Oyster case for ideal ergonomics. It comes in two diameters, 40 and 36mm, with the same height of 9.70mm, and three metals to highlight its perfect curve: Rolesor, which combines Oystersteel and white gold; the fiery red Everose gold alloy, set with trapezoid-cut diamonds on certain models; and platinum. Comfort is also optimized thanks to the integration of the Flat Jubilee link bracelet.

The dial features a stylized honeycomb pattern and is tinted in matte white or ice blue. The hour markers, and in particular the two Arabic numerals 6 and 9 on the non-set models subtly echo the design of another iconic Rolex model, the Air-King. This modern disc displays the hours, minutes, and seconds in the center with baton-style hands, and the date at 3 o’clock with window placed under a small magnifying lens cut into the sapphire crystal. All indications are powered by the new high-frequency (5 Hz) caliber 7135, an automatic movement equipped with a high-performance regulating system that delivers a power reserve of 66 hours when fully wound.
