NOMOS – NEOMATIK & MINIMATIK NACHTBLAU
SWITCH THE NIGHT TO SAXONY TIME.
True to its signature minimalism, the Glashütte brand has unveiled a new range of blue watches.
From azure to navy and splashed all over dials and straps, blue is this year’s stand-out trend in watchmaking. It’s less widespread than pitch black, more exciting than silver grey and is a classic colour that appeals. Nomos, the up-and-coming brand from Glashütte, specialise in eye-catching and contemporary minimalist dials (standard for Saxony!) and has launched a collection of watches with blue dials. Nachtblau in German literally means “night blue” and the twilight hue descends upon the Neomatik & Minimatik Nachtblau dials.
The three pieces in this collection (Metro Neomatik Nachtblau, Tangente Neomatik Nachtblau and Minimatik Nachtblau) are fuelled by the DUW 3001 calibre. The self-winding mechanical movement brings to life the 42-hour power reserve and is the 10th calibre to be designed and made in-house by Nomos. It powers the hours and minutes in the centre of the dial and the small seconds at 6.
The 35mm steel cases (the Minimatik Nachtblau is 0.5mm bigger) have a sapphire crystal back so you can gaze at the movement.
The sand-blasted dials have a midnight blue lacquer whilst the seconds counter bears a circular tone-on-tone pattern. Nomos plays with four pale colours to counter the dominant dark hue: silver grey hour and minute hands, dashes of turquoise, tangerine ecru and bright orange on the central seconds hand.
These models are available in store from October 1st.
Price: 2,660 CHF (Tangente Neomatik) – 2,850 CHF (Minimatik) – 2,960 CHF (Metro Neomatik)
