NŒUD DE CAMÉLIA Chanel

THE HOUR BENEATH THE FLOWER

Blending fine jewelry and artisanal craftsmanship, this series of timepieces transforms the camellia into a sculptural object where diamonds, lacquer, and embroidery delicately conceal the passage of time.

The camellia holds a unique place in Gabrielle Chanel’s aesthetic vocabulary. Mademoiselle transformed the flower into a visual signature as early as 1913. With Nœud de Camélia, the Parisian brand transposes this couture heritage into a series of secret watches and a ring where artisanal crafts come together. Each piece draws on multiple skills, from snow-set gemstones to black lacquer work, including embroidery by Maison Lesage.

The Nœud de Camélia watch features a black grosgrain strap lined with leather, topped by a white gold case shaped like a flower corolla. The petals, entirely set with brilliant-cut diamonds, are outlined with a hand-applied line of black lacquer to accentuate their relief. At the center, a diamond of approximately one carat serves as a movable pistil: this sliding mechanism reveals a concealed dial, available in a black lacquered or stone-paved version.

The Nœud de Camélia Brodée edition, limited to twenty pieces, enriches this design with hand-sewn black sequins and baguette-cut diamonds, creating effects of texture and depth. Produced in a limited run of just five pieces, the Nœud de Camélia Diamants cuff stands out for its articulated architecture combining white gold and titanium to ensure flexibility and comfort despite its generous proportions. The diamonds, set in a line, are framed by a black border that visually structures the piece. A matching ring echoes these graphic elements and also features a Swiss quartz movement concealed beneath the flower.
