NEW YEAR, NEW MOMENTUM
The brand, faithful to the bond that connects it to the equestrian realm, couldn’t miss the start of Lunar New Year festivities. This exclusive series celebrates this era that’s full of promises.

To start the lunar and zodiac new year, which falls under the ever-so rare Fire Horse sign, on the right foot, Longines releases a 2026-piece limited edition of the Master Collection Year of the Horse watch. This timepiece is the fruit of a partnership with the Peon Art Museum in Chongqing, China. An engraving depicting the ink-drawn work of art Galloping Horse, by Xu Beihong (1895 – 1953), comes to life on the golden oscillating mass, visible through the sapphire-crystal back. The artist was famous for his paintings of horses in motion, in which he combined techniques learned during his journeys through Europe with traditional ones from his homeland.
Dial-side, an elegant gradient-toned red with fascinating hues veering to black serves as a backdrop for the fine hour and minute hands, and markers, all gilded too. In this intensely-colored scenography, a hand-pointed date indicator encircles the moon phase displays. All the time data and complications are driven by caliber L899.5, which nestles in a 42 mm-diameter steel case. Its silicon spring makes it insensitive to magnetic fields. This selfwinding movement also stands out with its power reserve of three days. Largely enough to fully delight in the kindness of this horse, symbolizing courage and freedom, present on the Master Collection Year of the Horse, and set off with a black leather strap.
