PERFORMANCE MEETS ELEGANCE
Continuing (but certainly not ending!) an adventure that began 25 years ago, this fourth opus from the Geneva-based brand revamps its design, enhanced by a platinum case and azure dial, and still powered by a hardy movement.

The year 1997 saw the birth of a future saga with the creation of the L.U.C 1860 model. With its timeless elegance, the use of the initials of founder Louis-Ulysse Chopard (1836-1915) and the date of creation of the eponymous brand, the watch reflects a traditional watchmaking heritage while embracing contemporary technology. This first reference was followed in 2000 by an innovation, the L.U.C Quattro caliber, whose power revolutionized the field of mechanics. A quarter of a century later, the adventure continues with a fourth chapter in Chopard‘s modern history: the introduction of the L.U.C Quattro – Mark IV anniversary piece.
With a slender profile and refined silhouette, this new model features an updated design with a 39mm diameter, 10mm thick 950 platinum case with a more pronounced curve to resemble the “savonnette“ style of the first pocket watches produced by Louis-Ulysse Chopard in the 19th century. This focus on ergonomics extends to the azure dial. Borrowing its bluish color from the sky, achieved using a PDV treatment that covers its grained surface, the disc displays the hours and minutes, indicated by two “fusée“ dauphine-style hands that sweep over faceted hour markers. At 6 o’clock, a counter combines the small seconds and the date to complete these displays, and the whole is surrounded by a minute track placed on a criss-cross ring. Unlike previous versions, the power reserve indicator is located on the back of the watch, allowing for the purest possible dial. This energy reserve reaches 216 hours, or approximately 9 days, thanks to the L.U.C Quattro 98.09-L caliber, a hand-wound movement that incorporates four barrels arranged in two superimposed pairs.
