FORMULA 1 SOLARGRAPH TAG Heuer

POWERED BY SOLAR ENERGY

The brand invites to discover its sporty world with an upgrade of its sports range rolled out in 1986. These models stand out with their up-to-the-minute looks and their sustainable features.

Formula 1® racing is forever gaining ground and attracting new audiences. To ensure these aficionados continue to enjoy their motor-racing passion day-in, day-out, TAG Heuer, the competition’s official timekeeper, unveils a colored collection, the Formula 1 Solargraph. The nine pieces in this line include some with a 38 mm-diameter black DLC or sandblasted-finished steel case, waterproof to depths of 100 meters. Other variations leave their mark through the composition of their holder, fashioned using light and sturdy cutting-edge polymer, known as TH-Polylight. This high-tech material is used to craft the bidirectional rotating bezel that’s carved to ensure better handling, and decorated with a five-by-five graduated scale.

Highly-contrasting scenographies on the dials mean the hour and minute hands can be read in a flash. This duo, as well as the large markers depicting the hour chapter, are topped with powerful Super-LumiNova® which ensures they’re always prominently displayed even when it’s dark. A practical date window at 3 o’clock completes this can’t-do-without data. All these elements are driven by Caliber TH50-00. This quartz movement is somewhat special as it’s not brought to life by a standard battery, but by a solar one with a 15-year lifespan, charged up using the sun’s rays. After 40 hours of exposure, the Formula 1 Solargraph‘s totally refueled and continues to tick over for 10 months without any need for light. Perfect for keeping track of all the Grands Prix, even the events that take place at night!
