TAG Heuer pays tribute to Ayrton Senna on a regular basis. The generous, combative personality of the Brazilian driver continues to inspire generations long after his death, in particular through a foundation managed by his family. The watch brand, which supports this initiative, takes advantage of its close collaboration with it to roll out two new TAG Heuer Formula 1 Chronograph x Senna series. The first features a 44 mm-diameter black DLC-coated grade 2 titanium case, waterproof to depths of 200 meters. This sturdy holder protects a selfwinding Caliber 16 (56 hours’ power reserve). This special edition stands out with its forged carbon bezel fringed with a tachymetric scale. On its dial, the counters dedicated to measuring times, the small seconds and the direct-drive take on Brazil’s colors. To heighten its sporty look even more, this timepiece is accompanied by a solar-hued rubber strap.
The second opus, a model rolled out in 3,000 pieces, combines a 43 mm-diameter satin-brushed and polished steel case with a quartz caliber. This movement drives the hours, minutes, date, and chronograph functions accurately. Data is ever-so easy to read on the sunburst black dial where the 1/10th of a second counter reigns in Ayrton Senna’s favorite colors: yellow, blue, and green. This watch is worn on a metal bracelet fashioned with signature S-shaped links. The champion’s spirit can be felt down to the tiniest stylistic detail in this duo cut out for competition.
