BLUE HORIZON
The watchmaker has given a new face to its timepiece equipped with a caliber regulated by a tourbillon and an architecture inspired by marine chronometers.
Ferdinand Berthoud took us to distant destinations with the FB 1.3 model, where marine chronometers set the pace for long-distance journeys. With this new version, the FB1.3-1 Sapphire Blue, the trip continues in a delicate aesthetic harmony. The translucent blue dial with a vertical satin finish brings out the grey tints of the platinum and the grey ceramic of the 44-mm case and lugs. Time information is clearly displayed in a setting with the colors of the South Seas. The hours and minutes can be read in an offset disc at 12 o’clock. The precise power reserve indicator, 53 hours when the watch is fully wound, indicates the status at 9 o’clock.
The whole is orchestrated by the caliber FB-T.FC-2. Regulated by a second tourbillon, this manual winding movement has a constant force mechanism, ensuring great homogeneity and stability in the distribution of available energy. This sophisticated construction can be observed through portholes housed in the body and through the sapphire crystal case back. The structure can be observed with its 15 bridges and 3 half-bridges and hand-made finishings in keeping with the demands of traditional watchmaking. Its chronometric precision is certified by the COSC.
The FB 1.3-1 Sapphire Blue watch is betting on exclusiveness. Only 5 numbered pieces are up for sale. They all come with an alligator leather strap with a fold-over clasp.
