True to the spirit of travel that has inspired the Parisian brand’s creations since its inception, this collection takes us on a journey of discovery through two limited editions featuring minerals in intense hues.
Escale. This French word for “stopover“ whispers in our ears the desire to travel, to explore the world in search of treasures, to clear our minds and free them from the weight of everyday life, or simply to feast our eyes. This notion of travel has existed within the Louis Vuitton trunk maker since its foundation and continues to permeate the workshops of the Parisian house’s various departments, particularly that of watchmaking, as evidenced by two new timepieces. Named Escale Turquoise and Escale Malachite, they embrace the beauty of the minerals with which they are adorned.
As a symbol of protection and peace, turquoise adorns the dial with its celestial hue dotted with dark spots, as well as the case middle of the 40mm diameter, 10.34mm thick platinum case in one of the versions, while the second features a disc and ring meticulously carved from malachite with green horizontal stripes that embody joy. On each of these limited editions of 30 pieces per reference, the large silvered flange punctuated with hour markers is swept by a pair of spear-shaped hands and a slender seconds hand, all in white gold. At the cardinal points, the markers borrow their distinctive design from the vocabulary of the first rigid luggage pieces designed by Louis Vuitton. This duo beats to the rhythm of the LFT023 manufacture caliber, a 4hz self-winding mechanical movement by La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton, which incorporates a rose gold micro-rotor and provides a power reserve of approximately 50 hours.
