CHRONOMASTER SPORT METEORITE Zenith

CHRONOMASTER SPORT METEORITE Zenith

SHOOTING STAR

Time and space, two infinites, come together in this novel stylistic upgrade of one of the star-logoed manufacture’s collection centerpieces.

An icon’s strength lies in its ability to pursue its route, to be in tune with the times, to buck trends. The references in the Chronomaster collection are, as such, totally in keeping with prestigious high-frequency models rolled out in the 60s and 70s, namely the A386 from 1969. With its Chronomaster Sport Meteorite, Zenith breathes life into a creation where watchmaking precision consorts with the randomness of a style from the far reaches of space. Its 41 mm-diameter, 13.6 mm-thick steel case is combined with a black ceramic bezel that hosts a meteorite dial. Every pattern, which is naturally unique, boosts this watch’s collector facet. A scenography flaunting various shades of gray center stages the minute counter at 6 o’clock, the seconds one at 3, and the small seconds one at 9, all positioned in the traditional way.

This piece, which is waterproof to depths of 100 meters, hosts the El Primero 3600 column-wheel caliber which beats at a frequency of 36,000 vibrations an hour (5 Hz). Over the course of the 60-hour power reserve which this automatic movement delivers, time is measured with constant, spectacular accuracy. The direct-drive runs round the dial in 10 seconds during timekeeping sessions. What’s more, everything is wonderfully-easy to read thanks to savvy dashes of red that also jazz up the composition. The Chronomaster Sport Meteorite‘s sporty personality is emphasized even more through its integrated metal bracelet.
