A WORTHY SUCCESSOR
Performance, style, timeless design, and precise details instill the 2023 vintage variations of the watch created by Jack Heuer with an alluring personality in tune with the times.
To mark the 60th anniversary of one of its iconic sports watches, at the most recent edition of Watches & Wonders Geneva TAG Heuer unveiled attractive new versions of the Carrera Chronograph, designed around a 39mm-diameter steel case, water-resistant down to a depth of 100 meters. Two models are on offer. One combines a circular brushed black dial with azure silver counters. The other is entirely adorned with a luminous blue color. The latter is also distinguished by the refined design of its small seconds display at 6 o’clock. Both are surmounted by an elegant sapphire crystal of the glass box type, highlighting with a magnifying effect the tachymeter scale positioned on the convex bezel.
Measuring the short times is accomplished using two round push-buttons. They are precisely regulated by the high-performance TH20-00 caliber, providing 80 hours of power reserve, and equipped with an oscillating weight featuring the design of the brand’s emblematic logo. In addition to the time information, this self-winding movement also drives a calendar. The latter stands out by virtue of its rare position at 12 o’clock on the black dial. As for the hour and minute hands, as well as the hour markers making up the hour circle, they are all coated with a Super-LumiNova® with green light. To further enhance the sporty, elegant personality of the Carrera Chronograph 39mm, each model comes with a matching leather wristband, smooth or perforated depending on the variation, closed with a folding clasp.
