CARRERA CHRONOGRAPH TAG Heuer

CARRERA CHRONOGRAPH TAG Heuer

SUPER-BRILLANT ICON

The legendary chronograph is reinvented in a version adorned with diamonds, which are arranged in a novel way on the flange rather than on the bezel. An aesthetic innovation that also allows for a large dial opening.

Earlier this year, TAG Heuer unveiled two interpretations of its legendary chronograph at the LVMH Watch Week held in New York to present new products from each of the group’s watch brands. Indeed, since the launch of the first reference in 1963, the collection has continued to grow, and now boasts two diamond-encrusted versions of the Carrera Chronograph, one in baby pink and the other in dark blue.

However, the watch brand known for its avant-garde spirit has chosen to showcase these 72 precious stones in a very different way than the traditional bezel setting. Under the sapphire crystal dome, they are arranged along the concave flange, which hosts a series of 11 brilliants as indexes. This arrangement allows the circular-brushed dial to “breathe”, making it easier to pick up information, particularly from the counters. Hollowed, azure and encircled by metal rings, the totalizers powered by the large central second hand display the chronograph minutes (at 3 o’clock) and hours (at 9 o’clock), while the small seconds include the date aperture at 6 o’clock. True to the codes of their watch family, these new models are offered with a 39mm-diameter steel case to which the crown and the duo of piston-style pushers are attached. The case houses the TH20-00 caliber, an automatic movement that provides an impressive 80-hour power reserve.
